What is skin resurfacing?
Most skin resurfacing has been done with a traditional laser device. Various lasers can deliver dramatic skin changes with a pattern of microscopic injuries to a small amount of the skin. The treatments stimulate the body to heal and promote collagen to repair itself. The amount of downtime varies in relation to the depth of the treatment of the skin.
What can I expect with my Opus treatment?
Opus technology is a fast 15-20-minute procedure to an area of the skin such as the face, neck, and chest. Opus also treats acne scaring and stretch marks. During a consultation with our staff, we will plan for the treatment best suited for you. Most patients require 2 to 3 moderate treatments to reach their desired result.
Is the treatment painful?
Depending on your desired treatment plan the amount of discomfort you may experience will vary. Topical anesthetic is applied to the area of the skin that will be treated for 45 minutes prior to your session. The topical anesthetic helps numb the area prior to your treatment.
What is the downtime and recovery?
Recovery downtime varies depending upon the depth and settings of treatment you choose. A light or moderate treatment usually require 24-48 hours of mild redness, swelling and soreness. Most people find it possible to carry on with daily activities. Opus Plasma has had a clinical study that has shown 50 percent of the downtime when compared to traditional laser resurfacing procedures.
